                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY
                   CLOSING OF M. L. KING BOULEVARD, MARKET
                   STREET, AND BROAD STREET MORE PARTICULARLY
                   DESCRIBED HEREIN BEGINNING AT 6:00 P.M.
                   FRIDAY, JULY 5, 1991 UNTIL 12:00 NOON
                   SUNDAY, JULY 7, 1991 OR IF IT SHOULD RAIN,
                   ON SUNDAY, JULY 7, 1991 UNTIL 6:00 A.M. ON
                   MONDAY, JULY 8, 1991 FOR THE "1991
                   INDEPENDENCE DAY DOWNTOWN BLOCK PARTY"
                   SPONSORED BY THE CHATTANOOGA DOWNTOWN
                   ALLIANCE UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS DESCRIBED

       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby authorized 
the
       temporary closing of M. L. King Boulevard between Broad Street 
and
       Georgia Avenue, Market Street between 8th Street and 10th Street, 

       and the northbound curb lane of Broad Street between M. L. King
       Boulevard and 10th Street beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July
       5, 1991 until 12:00 noon on Sunday, July 7, 1991 or if it should
       rain, on Sunday, July 7, 1991 until 6:00 a.m. on Monday, July 8,
       1991 for the presentation of the "1991 Independence Day Downtown
       Block Party" sponsored by the Chattanooga Downtown Alliance
       provided that the sponsor shall set out flasher barricades and
       warning signs and shall provide at all times an access lane for
       fire and other emergency vehicles.
